some more arguements in favor of Reservation

1) had it been that all these 'Dalits' got converted to Islam, imagine what would have happened to these upper caste Hindus, with 70% Muslims around them. They would simply have lost all democratic rights and made second class citizens like the Hindus in Pakistan. So, these upper caste Hindus should be grateful to the Dalit people for not changing over to Islam inspite of centuries of harassment and oppression.

2) we know how merit has been the sole criteria in India since the time of the Mahabharata. We all know the fate of Ekalavya, who was asked to give his thumb as 'Guru Dakshina' as a reward for his merit.

3) The upper caste Hindus ruled over India for centuries and now we see the result, India ranked as one of the most corrupt and illiterate country in the world.
so, it's time there should be a role reversal, lets allow the Dalits to rule India for some time and then we can make a proper comparison as to who is better.

4) are the upper caste hindus ready to destroy caste system?are they ready allow their children to marry lower caste people?
as long as this does not happen, they deserved to be punished and reservation for the lower caste people is one way of punishing the upper caste hindus.
