thoughts on staying single ....

Discussing the issue of staying single.

Yes, I completely agree ... ideally, staying single is the best thing. But we have to take so many things in to consideration before arriving at a conclusion.

Yes, If you have certain ambition, dream and you are serious in pursuing your dream and ready to sacrifice everything else, then it's fine. But, then some may argue, why cant one, pursue his dream, after getting married? the answer is, it depends... marriage brings along with it certain responsibilities and its not possible to focus all your attention, time and resource in pursuing your dream, unless you make it a common dream ... yours and your partner's. But, very rarely we see a couple, having same goal and aspiration.

So, if you have a dream or something you really desire to achieve at any cost, then staying single can be justified.

But, if you plan to stay single just for the heck of it, then it's time for a rethink. we are part of a society, which is not yet ready to accept, single-hood as a natural thing. people start to speculate, and every now and then you will be giving explanations, as to why you decided to stay single. And this very thing is quite unnerving, unless you are capable of keeping yourself isolated from the society... or just don’t care.

Yes, In my case i have certain aspirations, but I am not sure how serious I am.

In real life, everything has got a cost and certain benefits associated with that. For example, a car, it will cost you something and it has certain benefits. And in human life, the cost benefit equation changes with time. One thing which, you felt is substantially beneficial at one point of time could loose its significance to you over a period of time.

Take a toy for example, when you were a child, it's benefit heavily out-weighed the cost, but as you grow older, the toy loses it's significance to you.

Similarly, bachelorhood has certain cost and certain benefits. The benefits of staying bachelor may look substantial at this point of your time, but after a certain period of time it may loose its charm. And then you find yourself ina fix, you cant bring time back... and have already crossed the appropriate age.

So, unless you have something, kind of propelling idea dream or goal, which can justify your decision of staying single and intense enough to last, whole of your life ... its not wise to think of a single life.
